Me and the Olympiad (part 1)

Wihiii…

I just got back from Jogjakarta yesterday! It was unplanned, but suddenly the management told me and my two friends, that we were the participants of the English Olympiad. Okay, I wasn’t excited to participate but I was excited coz I’d go to Jogja free of charges on transportation and accommodation 😆

 

We haven’t prepared ourselves to compete though (-.-“). It was the day before the competition when we finalized our presentation. And our turn to present was on the 2nd day of the competition (oct 7). Owh, fyi, the competition held on 5-7 Oct. At the first day, we were given a lectures on Improving English Presentation Skill, Negotiation Skill, Knowledge Sharing and Malcolm Baldrige. The 2nd day is the first day of the competition, when 15 teams presented their papers. The 3rd day, the 5 teams left, finally got a chance to deliver the presetations too 😆 and then there’s a chance for individuals to compete against each other.

 

It was a suprise when one of the Judges called my name, at the last row, of the 10 Best Performance. Fyi, we were targeted to win by the management, but target from ourselves? well, i tell you again, we were unprepared, so we didn’t put our hopes too much 😛 to reduce the disappointment, of course 😆

 

There’s this man, based on his team presentation, he was good. He also compete against me in the individual categories, and he got the chance before me, and he was good too. and it was his question that appeared for me to be answered (-.-“). I wasn’t sure if my answer is good, i was, at least, expected to be the 2nd runner, but the Judges put me as the Champion.. Ta-Daaaaa… Quite a surprise for us 😆 Our Team, didn’t get a number though (-.-“), but again we were unprepared, so this is not a disappointment for us 🙂

 

Well, I still have to prepare myself to compete again on the Final next week. I still won’t put my hopes too high 😛 being one of the participants, is a big chance for me to have more knowledge and experience. Being one of the Champions, is a gift from God 😆 But everyone says, the price is having a vacation abroad.. Naaaa, this kind of thing that’s making me more excited 😆 Well, wish me good luck yaaaa 🙂
